Safaricom CEO celebrates birthday with 22.5kg cake during Meru University graduation
In a heartwarming dual celebration, Safaricom CEO Dr Peter Ndegwa, who also serves as the Chancellor of Meru University, marked his birthday today by cutting a spectacular 22.5 kg cake during the institution’s 12th graduation ceremony.
The event not only celebrated the achievements of the graduates but also honored Dr. Ndegwa for his significant contributions to the university and beyond.
The graduation ceremony, attended by the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Dr Esther Thaara Muoria, faculty, students, and esteemed guests, was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the graduating class.
Dr. Ndegwa, revered for his leadership at Safaricom and his commitment to enhancing education in Kenya, received the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa (honorary doctorate) from the university.
