Linturi crowned the Meru Kingpin by Njuri Ncheke
Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi has been crowned the Meru Kingpin and spokesperson.
The Ceremony was held in Njuri Ncheke shrine in Nchiru and attended by Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya and former governor Kiraitu Murungi who was also coronated as the Njuri Ncheke Patron and adviser.
As part of the coronation, Linturi underwent various rituals at the holy shrine in accordance with the Njuri Ncheke tradition.
The symbolic ceremony was attended by hundreds of elders, MPs and MCAs among other leaders.
Linturi is among the few top leaders to be installed by Njuri Ncheke, after Kenya’s first president Jomo Kenyatta, former President Mwai Kibaki, President Kenyatta, and Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and Attorney General Justin Muturi.
Njuri Ncheke Secretary General Josphat Murangiri said the coronation will empower CS Linturi to lead Meru County as its spokesperson.
“Any leader coming to Meru should do so through CS Linturi whom we have commissioned as our Kingpin. We know that he is the Cabinet Secretary of Kenya but he is also our County spokesperson,” Murangiri said.
Murangiri called on CS Linturi and Kiraitu to save the County from dwindling and shame.
Kiraitu termed Linturi as the leader to help the County to achieve its goals including those he failed to achieve during his tenure as the County Kingpin.
He called on Linturi to revive the construction of the stale Sh60 million Njuri Ncheke cultural center.
Speaking Linturi promised to serve selflessly for the County to benefit. Linturi further committed to ensuring that the stale Njuri Ncheke building is completed. The CS additionally promised to drill a borehole in the shrine
He promised to work hand in hand with the elders and the leaders of Meru County.
