Munya’s ally seek to unseat Mpuru in 2027

Dr Nangithia Mburung’a, a close ally of former Agriculture CS Peter Munya, has announced his intention to unseat Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi in the upcoming 2027 elections, citing the MP’s lack of competence.
In a meeting with delegates, Mburung’a criticized Aburi’s failure to support initiatives rather than focus on the ongoing impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“The impeachment process was purely political, and I’m disappointed in the MPs who participated. They should have focused on critical local issues instead,” Mburung’a stated.
He further lambasted Aburi, expressing disbelief that he managed to secure his seat for a second term.
“The people of Tigania should be concerned about their representation,” said Mburung’a.
If elected, Mburung’a intends to prioritize urgent development needs in the constituency, including improving water access, upgrading deteriorating roads, and advocating for the establishment of institutions like the Kenya Medical Training College in Tigania.
“Instead of pushing for essential local developments, it seems Mpuru is more interested in political games. It’s been two years, and our community deserves more,” he added.
Mburung’a also emphasized the importance of agriculture to the region’s economy, highlighting the struggles of farmers in Thangatha Ward, who face logistical challenges in getting their produce to market.
“We need better roads to support our farmers and eliminate exploitation by middlemen,” he added.
