Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Isaac Mutuma M’Ethingia, demanding a public apology over remarks made yesterday alleging that Linturi was responsible for the burning of Magunas Supermarket last year.
Linturi warned that failure to retract the statement and apologize within the stipulated time will leave him with no option but to seek legal redress in court.
Meanwhile, Governor Mutuma has maintained a defiant stance, openly declaring that he does not fear his political rivals. Speaking to supporters, the governor led them in singing “Twararia Nkurumano,” a song often associated with courage and readiness for battle.
In what appeared to be a direct message to Linturi and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Mutuma boldly stated:
“Wewe na Gachagua nitawapeleka nyumbani kabla ya jogoo kuwika.”
The statement signals his readiness for a political showdown, and has already sparked strong reactions across Meru County as tensions between rival political camps continue to escalate.
