Former Tharaka Nithi Woman Rep Nkatha given heroine’s send-off

Beatrice Nkatha, the former Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative, was on Tuesday honored with a heroine’s send-off at an emotional ceremony attended by thousands at Chuka Boys High School grounds.
Tears flowed freely as residents bid farewell to their beloved leader, who left an indelible mark on the community.
The ceremony attracted significant attendance from top government officials, including Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development, Alice Wahome, and Government Spokesman, Isaac Mwaura.
Their presence underscored Nkatha’s impact on the region and the esteem in which she was held.
Alice Wahome commended Nkatha as an exemplary leader, emphasizing the pressing need for unity among leaders to ensure harmony and progress for their constituents.
She additionally addressed the ongoing land issues that have delayed title deeds and spoke on the disputes near the Meru-Tharaka boundaries.
Wahome pledged to work closely with county commissioners and the governor to resolve these conflicts and ensure that the residents receive their rightful titles.
she also announced funding of a modern market to be constructed in Chuka at a Sh290 million and urged leaders to resolve political differences to allow robust development in other areas, such as Marimanti.
Isaac Mwaura, known for his advocacy and eloquence, expressed his admiration for Nkatha’s kind heart and generosity.
He highlighted the significant void her passing has left in the community, recalling her commitment to supporting vulnerable children and her remarkable mobilization skills.
Governor Njuki offered his heartfelt condolences to Nkatha’s family, acknowledging her deep contributions to the community, particularly her advocacy for the vulnerable.
He stressed the importance of unity among leaders to address the myriad challenges facing the county and to ensure that development projects are successfully realized.
Maara MP Kareke Mbiuki conveyed the crucial need for cooperation among leaders to honor their promises to the people of Tharaka Nithi County.
He noted that the county is blessed with capable leaders, referencing the nomination of Kindiki as Deputy President, and called upon all leaders to unite and work for the betterment of the region.
Others who attended the memorial were members of the County Assembly, Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene, and Meru Women Representative Kailemia Karambu, all of whom joined together to pay tribute to Nkatha and celebrate her enduring legacy.
The event was a poignant reminder of the profound impact Beatrice Nkatha had on her community and the continuing need for unity and effective leadership in Tharaka Nithi County.
