Meru leaders, residents celebrate swearing-in of Kindiki as Deputy President

Meru leaders and residents took to the streets to celebrate the swearing-in of Prof Kithure Kindiki as Deputy President of Kenya.
Governor Muthomi Njuki expressed confidence that Kindiki will work to unite the country and promote equitable development nationwide.
“I extend heartfelt congratulations to Professor Abraham Kithure Kindiki, the third Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya. He also praised President William Ruto for trusting “our son to be part of your leadership and vision,” Njuki stated
Njuki noted that the residents are delighted to see Kindiki rise to the position of second-in-command.
“The people of Tharaka Nithi are grateful for the honor of being at the forefront of the Kenya Kwanza Administration and join millions of Kenyans in celebrating the beginning of something truly historic in our country,” he said.
Gideon Kimathi, an advisor to Governor Kawira Mwangaza, led jubilant residents carrying placards expressing solidarity and support for Kindiki.
He remarked that Kindiki’s appointment is historic, as no other leader from the Mt Kenya East region has held the position of Deputy President.
“We overwhelmingly voted at almost 100%. We are happy you have reciprocated. We will be behind you and support your agenda. We urge other leaders with different choices to refrain from divisive politics,” Kimathi added.
In Irunduni, Kindiki’s home turf, celebrations included songs and dances as many praised President Ruto for his bold decision in selecting a leader of great caliber and integrity.
Meru Deputy Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia emphasized confidence in Kindiki’s commitment and expertise to support the President in implementing his agenda for Kenyans.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to HE Prof. Kindiki on his swearing-in. Kindiki has shown exemplary leadership as CS for Interior, strengthening national security and ensuring the efficient coordination of government programs,” M’Ethingia said.
Meru Senator Kathuri Murungi also recognized Kindiki’s influence, stating, “Your leadership and dedication inspire us all. Wishing you success as you serve the nation.”
MCA Thuranira Grace took a moment to thank the Heavenly Father for Blessing the Mt. Kenya region with a Deputy President.
“May Almighty God bless our President. Congratulations my brother. We will support you and hope you will not let us down. May God be with you always,” she added.
