Prof Henry Mutembei appointed new Chuka University Vice – Chancellor

President William Ruto has appointed Professor Henry Mutembei M’Ikiugu as the new Vice – Chancellor of Chuka University.

Prof Mutembei has been serving as the Vice – Chancellor in charge of Administration, Finance, Planning and Development affairs.

He takes over the varsity’s top leadership from Dorcas Isustsa who has been serving in an acting capacity since early last year when the founding Vice – Chancellor Prof Erastus Njoka stepped down to contest for the gubernatorial seat in Tharaka Nithi County.

The don has received numerous congratulatory messages from notable leaders and university heads, with Tharaka Nithi acting Vice – Chancellor Prof Peter Kinyua Muriungi assuaring him the support of the professionals from the region.

“I congratulate Prof Mutembei and wish him the very best as he begins the journey of seeing to it that the university maintains its good reputation in excellent Teaching, Research and Community service”, Prof Muriungi said.

Prof Njoka praised the incoming Vice – Chancellor noting that he brings on board vast experience in management of academic institutions.

“Prof Mutembei will with no doubts steer Chuka University to high levels. I call upon the new council and all stakeholders to offer him support in his new role”, said Njoka.

Chuka/Igambang’ombe Mp Patrick Munene also joined the team in expressing his confidence in Prof Mutembei, affirming that he is the right person to spearhead the development of the varsity.

“The founding VC has set the pace for you and I am confident that you will continue to steer up this institution”, Mp Munene said.
