Meru MPs shockingly ask Ruto to reappoint Kindiki snubbing own Linturi
By Harun Mugambi
In a surprising turn of events, Meru MPs have begged President William Ruto to reappoint former Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki, who hails from Tharaka Nithi County, instead of Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi, who is from the same region.
The MPs’ decision has left many residents scratching their heads, wondering why they would not be advocating for their own CS to be retained.
The calls come a day after President Ruto announcement to dissolve his entire Cabinet, retaining only Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
Igembe North MP Julius Taitumu and Igembe Central MP Dan Kiili have publicly implored President Ruto to consider some of the dismissed members when forming the new cabinet.
They have specifically singled out Prof Kithure Kindiki, praising his dedication and hard work during his tenure.
“Prof. Kithure Kindiki has been one of the most hardworking Cabinet Secretaries. His commitment to ensuring peace and security in the country was exemplary,” MP Taitumu said.
MP Kiili echoed these sentiments, highlighting the positive impact Kindiki had during his time in office.
“We believe Prof. Kindiki’s experience and dedication are invaluable. We urge President Ruto to consider reappointing him when naming the new cabinet,” he said.
It seems that Prof. Kindiki’s exceptional performance has earned him a special place in the hearts of many in Meru County, including MPs from the region.
Meanwhile, it appears that CS Linturi has been left with no one to speak for him, as his own MPs are advocating for someone else to be reappointed instead.
