Meru Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia Pushes for Cancer Care Upgrades and Resolves Medics’ Grievances
By Gerald Mukembu Meru Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia is spearheading efforts to transform healthcare in the county, focusing on cancer treatment and resolving long-standing disputes between the county government and healthcare workers. His administration is lobbying for partnerships to install radiotherapy machines at Meru Level 5 Hospital, aiming to ease the financial burden on cancer patients who currently travel to Nairobi or India for treatment. Governor Mutuma revealed that his administration is in discussions with the National Cancer Institute of Kenya to establish a cancer diagnosis and treatment research center in Meru.
