Debutants Embu East Police to face off with 3K Youth FC

Runyenjes has become a beacon of hope for local football enthusiasts as Embu East Police FC prepares to kick off their inaugural season in the County League. The debutants, established in early 2024 under the commendable theme of “Building Bridges through Football,” have made waves since their registration for the subcounty league, and they are ready to take on a fresh challenge.

Following a remarkable performance in the subcounty league, Embu East Police FC secured a spot in the playoffs alongside three other teams, each vying for a coveted place in the County League. The law enforcers demonstrated their prowess by defeating Kiangima Youth and Issaco FC with narrow 1-0 victories in both matches. These efforts have now paved the way for their participation in the County League, a dream come true for the team and its supporters.

3K Youth FC

As they gear up for their season opener against 3K Youth FC, set for Sunday, February 2nd, at the Moi Stadium in Embu, head coach Yussuf expressed his excitement. “We are not here just to participate; we are here to compete with the top teams. My boys are ready for the season and very eager for the challenge,” he affirmed, underscoring the determination that has fueled their journey.

Coach Yussuf, formerly with Pan African University and Juja Community FC, took a moment to appreciate the unwavering support from the fans that has driven the team forward. He extended an invitation to supporters to come out in numbers and rally behind the team during their matches, emphasizing the crucial role community backing plays in their success.

In a significant development for local football, the FKF Embu Branch, led by Harrison Gitonga, will also be launching digital player cards and a new league website on the same day. This exciting initiative aims to enhance league professionalism and accessibility, providing weekly updates on fixtures, results, and other vital information to keep fans engaged and informed while nurturing talent throughout Embu.

Misri Queens

Simultaneously, the highly anticipated Women’s County League will see the reigning champions of the Embu Governor’s Cup 2024, Misri FC from Mbeere North, face off against the experienced squad from Jeremiah Nyaga Polytechnic (JNTI) in the opening match. This season promises to be thrilling, with 40 men’s teams divided into four competitive zones battling for glory and 16 women’s teams poised to showcase their talent.
