A human rights activist has demanded police protection, saying his life is in danger.
Mr Salesio Thuranira Mutuma an activist based in Meru County reported the threat at Meru police Station.
Mutuma reported having received threatening messages on his Facebook from an unfamiliar user dubbing himself ‘Nicodemus Mawira’.
The Meru renowned activist was on the spot a few months ago for blowing the whistle on the scandal involving embezzlement of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).
Mutuma is also famous for recently seeking the intervention of the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission over the alleged mass looting of public funds in the office of the Governor of Meru County and investigations into alleged mismanagement and looting of funds collected during the Mt Kenya Mountain Run event that was hosted by the Meru County Government in February this year.
