Speaking exclusively to The County Focus Newspaper Peter Mutuma Kalembe, Ruiri Rwarera former MCA said governor Kawira has herself to blame for the impeachment.

Kalembe said governor Kawira’s utterances are contravening Chapter six of the constitution on Leadership and Integrity.

The former MCA statements come days after Governor Kawira was recorded in an event at Buuri quoting the Bible in the book of Isaiah 5:20 which says: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

According to Kalembe, Governor Kawira has been prioritizing sideshows and playing the victim card in a bid to win sympathy from the residents.

“The more she makes noise the more trouble she attracts. Mwananchi will suffer and Meru County will lose a lot of benefits we could have achieved from the National Government if the two factions fighting could have united,” Kalembe.

Kalembe accused Governor Kawira of turning Meru County into a laughing stock instead of seeking amicable solutions to end the wrangles with the MCAs.

Additionally, the former ward representative blasted the MCAs for asking for ward funds noting its illegal

Instead, he said the MCAs are always at the Mercy of the Governors due to the lack of ward funds.  According to him, the MCAs and the governor should unite and allocate funds to various vital ward projects ahead of the County’s flagship projects for Mwananchi to benefit.

A few days ago, the County Assembly Forum (CAF) which is the coordinating body of the 47 County Assemblies to rally all 47 County Assemblies in Kenya petitioned the National Assembly to incorporate the County Ward Equitable Development Fund in the proposed Constitutional Amendment Bill.
