Joy as a Meru club signs former Gor Mahia star

Meru Mutindwa club fans will be delighted this season. This is after their club managed to convince one of the best signings in the Country to join them.

Moses “Dube” Odhiambo evokes a lot of nostalgic moments whenever his name is mentioned. The one-time dreadlocked football star who was bred up in Meru but went on to become a great footballer at Gor Mahia Fc for a long time has finally returned to the destination that nurtured him.

Odhiambo has finally returned to Meru, not as a player but as a tactician to give back to the community that nurtured him.

Dube will coach the Meru Mutindwa which plays in the division two league. This is a big boost to the club as it has been struggling technically and financially in the recent past.

According to football pundits, the inclusion of the former superstar in the technical bench will certainly make the Meru-based club one of the best in the region.

Odhiambo is famous among the old generation. He is among many other famous players such as Ulinzi Player Francis Mureithi aka Sire who started their career at Kinoru Stadium and Kaaga Primary School ground commonly known as “Sansiro” after the famous AC Milan Stadium

Pundits have argued that the entry of the new coach will boost the level of football in Meru.

Despite the good record, Meru Mutindwa has called on the government to help them financially citing struggles to pay off their bills.
