Meru First Gentleman, Murega Baichu, set to graduate from Pan Africa Christian University
In a proud moment for Meru County, Murega Baichu, the First Gentleman of Meru, is set to graduate from the Pan Africa Christian University (PAC) tomorrow. Baichu will be part of the 43rd PAC graduation ceremony, which will take place at the university’s Thika Campus from 8:30 am.
Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has taken to social media to congratulate her spouse ahead of his big day.
In a romantic message, she referred to Baichu as a “favoured man”, a “great Meru leader”, and a “world-class musician and cultural ambassador”. She also praised his guitar skills, calling him a “world-class one guitarist”.
The graduation ceremony will be aired live on Baite TV, the family-owned TV station, as well as on Hope TV and live-streamed on PAC University’s social media platforms.
The event is expected to be attended by various high-profile dignitaries, including Governor Mwangaza and Rev. Dr. Sam Owusu, an alumnus of PAC University and founder of Calvary Worship Centre in Canada.
Rev. Owusu will serve as the Chief Guest for the ceremony. The University Chancellor, Bishop Calisto Odede (Rev.), will preside over the graduation ceremony.
But who is Murega Baichu? Beyond being a talented musician and cultural ambassador, he has been a dedicated advocate for community development and creative expression. He has used his platform to promote Meru culture globally and has been recognized for his efforts. As the holder of the title “Meru Cultural Ambassador” bestowed upon him by the Ministry of Tourism, Baichu has represented Kenya internationally, promoting it as a tourist destination.
In addition to the graduation ceremony, Governor Mwangaza has invited the public to a thanksgiving service at Baite Family Fellowship in Makutano on Sunday. The community is invited to join in celebrating this momentous occasion with the Baichu family.
